Paul Musso

A professional photographer since at least 1994 when I completed my degree in photography I was already working on events photography all over the country during my studies. My interest in all things photography has given me a great career, but I always came back to people and portraiture and the interaction between photographer and sitter.

After 15 years of editorial clients I moved into advertising and marketing creating sets or working on location with celebrities, models or amateurs. I really enjoy the problem solving logistical side of shooting and collaboration with other creatives.

I was commissioned to set up a portrait studio at the Hay Festival in Wales for their 30th anniversary. It proved so successful I have been back every year it has run to date. Over the 11 day literary festival I take between 500-700 portraits of the authors, politicians, actors and budding writers that take to the stage. It is not my usual style of working and it incredibly intense with some sessions less than a minute long but it is incredibly rewarding and illustrates my ability to adapt to each situation to get the job done well.
